AMMAN — Minister of Labor Nayef Steitieh said Monday that the priority of his ministry is to provide jobs for Jordanian youth in all fields, and that the export of engineering manpower to the German market is one of these priorities, according to Khaberni.

During a meeting with the vice president of the Jordan Engineers Association, Fawzi Masad, and a visiting German delegation to discuss the employment of Jordanian engineers in Germany, Steitieh added that the ministry is exerting efforts to export Jordanian talents to all parts of the world.
The head of the
German delegation, Stefan Harms, who represents a number of companies in the
business sector in northern Germany, said that the German market is in need of
400,000 skilled laborers in all fields, including technicians and engineers of
all specialties.
He also said
that engineers are needed in civil, mechanical and electrical areas, but added
that those who want to qualify must pass a German language exam, which is one
of the conditions for obtaining a work visa in Germany.
Harms announced
the start of a pilot project to hire Jordanian engineers to work in Germany
once they pass the required procedures.
Masad confirmed that the
association has taken steps to find jobs for its members in the German market,
given the diversity of opportunities there. He added during the meeting, which
was attended by the head of the German Universities Alumni Association and a
member of the Engineering Services Export Team to Germany at the association,
that there is a sincere desire and cooperation on the German side to hire
Jordanian engineers to work in Germany.
