During
a Parliament meeting to discuss the 2023 general draft budget law, Saqqaf added
that Jordanian embassies abroad and
foreign embassies in Jordan are partners to
attract investment.
IncentivesTo
encourage investment, Jordan is offering incentives. According to Saqqaf, these
include subsidizing energy costs, reducing the cost of rent, and aligning
foreign and local investors to be equal under the law.
Currently,
she added, any proceeding relating to the
Ministry of Investment can be
completed within 15 days.
The
hope with incentives, she said, is to show Jordan as an attractive investment
environment.
The
ministry was established in late 2021 as the previous state ministry for
investment affairs was unable to resolve all issues facing
investment in Jordan.
