Gov’t estimates need for JD10.47b to implement EMV projects

AMMAN — The government announced that it will carry out major projects in partnership with the private sector as part of the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) 2023–2025, according to Al-Mamlaka TV. For these projects, the government estimated its need for JD10.47 billion for implementation.اضافة اعلان

TransportemAmong the projects that the government intends to establish are the management and operation of a multi-purpose port within the new Aqaba port area at a cost of JD10 million, as well as the management and operation of King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba at a cost of JD50 million.

In addition, the government plans to carry out the National Railway Network project (Phase One Aqaba-Amman) at a cost of JD1.9 billion.

It also includes a project to consatruct cargo and passenger terminal buildings for the new King Hussein Bridge crossing at a cost of JD225 million. The government estimates its need for JD400 million for Toll Road projects, in addition to JD300 million for the development and rehabilitation of the Aqaba container port.

University, green hydrogen and desalinationThe major projects also include the establishment of a medical university through the Saudi-Jordanian Fund worth JD290 million, a project for the production of green hydrogen and green ammonia at a cost of JD4 billion, and a desalination and water transfer project (the National Carrier) at a cost of JD3 billion.

It also includes a project to establish 15 schools in partnership with the private sector at a cost of JD46 million

Power connectionAnother project is the Jordanian-Iraqi electrical grid connection project at a cost of JD30 million, and the Jordanian-Saudi power connection project at a cost of JD39 million.

The EMV executive program also includes raising the capacity of the power connection line between Jordan and Egypt to 1,100 megawatts.
