Housing Bank Unveils Art Mural to Raise Environmental Awareness in the Fight Against Cancer
Housing Bank has unveiled an art mural at its headquarters,
as part of a collaboration with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) to
join efforts in the fight against cancer. This initiative is aimed at raising
awareness about the critical role of a healthy environment to maintaining
well-being, aligning with the previous “Think Green” and “Healthy Environment
Against Cancer,” which emphasize the importance of adopting positive health and
environmental practices to reduce cancer risks.
This mural is in line with the objectives of the bank’s
corporate social responsibility program, Imkan by Iskan, which focuses on health
and environmental sustainability as key pillars for building a healthy society.
It underscores the ongoing partnership between the bank and the Foundation,
which has spanned several years, and coincides with October’s Breast Cancer
Awareness Month and November’s Men’s Health Awareness Month.
The mural covers an impressive 64 square meters and combines
elements of art, nature, and the beauty of Amman. The artwork features a
symbolic representation of the bank’s commitment to community support,
alongside sweeping views of the capital and lush natural landscapes that
highlight the importance of environmental preservation for public health.
Volunteers from Housing Bank’s Imkan by Iskan and KHCF’s Siwar
Al Hussein program participated alongside cancer survivors in the creation
of the mural, with the guidance of artist Suhaib Attar, who brought his
expertise in mural painting to the project. The collaborative effort reflects
the bank’s commitment to promoting teamwork, volunteerism, and community-driven
initiatives that benefit society.
It is worth noting that Housing Bank is a strategic partner
of KHCF, supporting many of the Foundation’s initiatives between 2023 and 2025.
This partnership includes sponsorship of the annual charity event, whose
proceeds help fund cancer patients, as well as support for the mobile breast
cancer detection clinic. The fully equipped mobile unit travels to remote areas
to conduct screenings and raise awareness about early detection. In addition, the
bank supports the Siwar Al Hussein volunteer program, which provides
opportunities for individuals to contribute their time to the fight against
cancer, as well as the University Scholarship Program, which covers
tuition for students battling cancer. This mural, and the initiatives it
represents, exemplify Housing Bank’s dedication to fostering sustainable,
impactful partnerships that integrate its corporate responsibility efforts with
the humanitarian mission of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation.
