Industrial Producers Price Index up 15.86%

AMMAN — The Industrial Producers Prices index climbed by 15.86 percent to 138.55 points in the first five months of 2022, against 119.58 points in the same period of 2021, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

In May, the producers’ prices index rose by 18.9 percent to 145.71 points, compared with 122.54 recorded in the same month last year, the Department of Statistics said in a report Tuesday.

The department also said that General Industrial Production Quantities index in the first five months of 2022 inched up by 5.12 percent to 91.78 points, compared with 87.31 recorded in the corresponding period in 2021.

The growth was driven by a rise in the production quantities of the transformative industries index by 3.79 points, with a relative importance of 86.01 percent, extractive industries by 0.73 points, with a relative importance of 8.22 percent, and electricity production index by 0.59 points, with a relative importance of 5.76 percent.

The index rose 3.96 percent to 95.63 points in May 2022, up from 91.99 in May 2021, and 92.47 points in April 2022, reflecting a 3.43 percent increase.
