AMMAN — Exports of industrial products
jumped by 43 percent in the first nine months of 2022, driven by a growth in
exports from sectors, like mining, chemicals, clothing and food, said
Fathi Al-Jaghbir, head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, according to a
local media outlet.

He said that the rise in exports resulted from the
efforts made in recent years to encourage exports, and cooperation with the
concerned authorities, institutions, and international organizations to support
the industry, and the higher profile taken by
Jordanian industrial firms
through their participation in foreign trade fairs.
Jaghbir explained that maintaining, and increasing
the performance of industrial exports requires work on several tracks, starting
with production costs, and raising the competitiveness of products, and
organizing and enhancing promotion operations.
He pointed out that the Economic Modernization
Vision aims to increase the contribution of industrial exports.
Jaghbir also stressed that the
Economic Modernization Vision includes initiatives to support exports, such as entering
new markets, benefitting mostly from trade agreements, studying the possibility
of signing new agreements, increasing marketing programs, promoting the
national product, and enhancing the industry’s participation in foreign
exhibitions.
