AMMAN — The
inflation rate rose by 3.91%for March in Jordan. The general consumer price index for the month of March
2023 registered at 108.83 compared to 104.73 for the same month of last year,
according to a local media outlet.

Commodity increasesThe main contributors to this increase were
the fuel and lighting with a rate of 31.61 percent, rentals with a rate of 5.17
percent, transportation with a rate of 3.68 percent, dairy, egg, and related
products with a rate of 9.50 percent, and health with a rate of 6.70 percent.
On a cumulative level, the average
general consumer price index for the first three months of this year reached 108.26
compared to 104.11 for the same period in 2022, recording an increase of 3.98
percent.
