AMMAN — The Consumer Price Index
(CPI), a measure of inflation, edged up 3.77 percent in January 2023 to reach
107.62 points, compared with a CPI of 103.71 for the same month of 2022, the
Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

According to a monthly report issued by the
Department of Statistics on Sunday, the biggest drivers of the increase were
fuels and lighting, contributing 31.82 percent, culture and entertainment at
10.40 percent, dairy products and eggs at 7.88 percent, rent at 5.17 percent,
and transportation at 2.39 percent.
