The applicants include 13 companies, a
cooperative society, and the Engineers Syndicate,
Huneifat noted. Applications
were presented to the ministry’s technical committees for study and have now
been transferred to the Ministry of Interior, which in turn will refer them to
the Ministry of Finance for review, according to Hala News.
The Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation
with the Department of Lands and Survey, previously completed a unified lease agreement
that will regulate the agricultural land investment project in the Al-Hammad
and
Al-Sarhan basins. The project covers an area of 36,000 dunums, with 36
investment opportunities, an area of 1,000 dunums for each opportunity, and a
water reserve of up to 24 million cubic meters.
The total area of the Al-Hammad basin is
estimated at about 18.1 million dunums, of which the government owns 14.88 million
dunums, while the total land area of the Al-Sarhan basin is estimated at 12.7
million dunums, of which the government owns 11.6 million dunums.
