AMMAN —
Head of the
Lower House Economy and Investment Committee MP Khair Abu Sa'ilik
stressed during a meeting Tuesday with a delegation representing the Iraqi
Business Council in the Kingdom on Tuesday, the depth of historical relations
between the two brotherly countries, according to Al-Ghad News.

During discussion
of the draft law regulating the investment environment in Jordan for the year
2022, Abu Sa'ilik expressed appreciation for the substantial
Iraqi investments
in the Kingdom, which greatly support the national economy.
He pointed out
that there is a real partnership between the Parliamentary Economic and
Investment Committee and the Iraqi Business Council, noting at the same time
that the committee had visited a number of businessmen and officials in
Baghdad and Erbil, where it was briefed on the Iraqi experience in dealing with
investors.
The delegation
said that the volume of Iraqi investments in Jordan amounts to JD24 billion, in
addition to $25 billion in foreign deposits. The delegation also discussed the
draft law and made suggestions to Abu Sa’ilik and his committee, stating
procedures, regulations, instructions for investors and investment itself must
be simplified in Jordan.
The delegation
also called for enhancing the spirit of competition in law, and praised the
investment climate in the Kingdom during the meeting, which was attended by
deputies Ayman Madanat, Omar Al-Naber, Hayel Ayyash, Musa Hantash, Abdel Salam
Al-Thiabat, Ahmad Al-Khalayleh, Khaled Al-Bustanji, Suleiman Abu Yahya, Dirar
Al-Harasis, Muhammad Al-Shatnawi, Asma Al-Rawahneh, and Thiyab Al-Masaied.
