AMMAN –
The volume of real estate trade at the North Amman Land Registration Department
amounted to JD272 million at the end of the first quarter of this year, ranking
first among the Kingdom’s land directorates, according to the
Department of Lands and Survey (DLS) data published on Saturday, according to the Jordan News
Agency, Petra.

The Amman Land
Registration Directorate ranked second with JD173 million, followed by West
Amman Land Registration Directorate with JD162 million and South Amman Land
Registration Directorate with JD149 million.
The DLS data
showed that volume of real estate trade at directorates and registration
offices in
Amman amounted to 74 per cent of the entire trading volume in the
first three months, with a total of JD1.049 billion; in the entire Kingdom it
stood at JD1.414 billion.
The total real
estate sales in the Kingdom during the first quarter of this year amounted to
40,539 properties, an increase of 2 percent over the same period in 2021,
distributed as follows: 14,342 properties, or 35 percent, in Amman, and 26,200,
or 65 percent, in the rest of the governorates.
Real estate sales
in Amman included 6,077 apartments and 8,265,000 plots of land, while sales in
the rest of the Kingdom’s governorates included 3,384 apartments and 22,813
plots of land.
During the first
quarter of 2022, 855 properties were sold to non-Jordanian investors, a 54
percent increase over the same period in 2021; they included 516 apartments, an
increase of 30 percent, and 339 plots of land, an increase of 117 percent.
Iraqi investors
ranked first, with a total of 202 real estate transactions,
Saudi investors ranked second, with a total of 194 transactions, while Syrian investors ranked
third with a total of 111 real estate transactions, the data indicated.
