AMMAN — Jordanians paid around JD36
billion worth of bills to various sectors through the
eFAWATEERcom online pay
system since its launch in 2014, according to data released by the Central
Bank, according to Al-Ghad News.

In eight years, 98 million bills were paid through
eFAWATEERcom to both government and non-governmental entities, including those
involved in water, electricity, and telecommunications, in addition to
syndicates and e-commerce services, the data shows.
Over the past two years, during the
COVID-19 pandemic,
more and more people started resorting to eFAWATEERcom and e-services, leading
different sectors to provide more online services to collect payment.
eFAWATEERcom is supervised by the Jordan Central Bank.
It connects banks operating in Jordan with bill-based entities (electricity,
water, telecommunication companies). People can pay their bills through several
channels, including ATMs, internet banking, and cell phone.
