He said Tuesday that there is a need for
approximately JD60 million to establish a mine and a factory to produce 300
tonnes of uranium annually. He explained that the factory may need 1–2 million
cubic meters of water annually.
Toukan pointed out the fully proven uranium sources
in three international reports, and expressed his opposition to selling uranium
as a commodity, as “uranium is a strategic material.”
Toukan mentioned the start
of extraction operations, and the establishment of a pioneering factory for the
production of yellow cake, which was completely established with Jordanian
designs without French, Russian, American, or any foreign power.
