AMMAN — The
Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) achieved record total profits of
JD535.5 million in 2021. Profits before tax amounted to JD437.5 million in 2021,
and net profits amounted to JD335.6 million (after taxes and provisions at the
end of last year), according to the company financial disclosure delivered to
the Amman Stock Exchange and the Securities Commission, Al-Ghad News reported.

Profits doubled
12 times compared to 2020, an increase of 1,200 percent, according to the company.
JPMC Chairman
of the Board of Directors Muhammad Thneibat said that last year the company
achieved the highest production of phosphates and fertilizers since its
establishment; phosphate production reached about 10 million tons, while its
sale of phosphate amounted to 9.7 million tons, and its production of
fertilizers reached 728,000 tons.
He stressed
that the company, which plays a role in serving the national economy, is one of
the main contributors to the balance of payments in foreign currency,
indicating that the total exports of the group and allied companies for the year
2021 amounted to $2.034 billion, while its payments to the Treasury amounted
more than JD140 million.
