AMMAN — The
Jordan Phosphate Mines Co. (JPMC) said it is offering JD1.5 million for a royal initiative to establish
agricultural projects in Southern Badia, a JPMC report said, according to the
Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The JPMC said the support comes following His Majesty
King Abdullah’s announcement of the initiative during a visit to Southern Badia
in October, and a meeting with community leaders in the region.
It added that the money will cover the expenses of the first part of the
project, which will be implemented in phases to establish agricultural projects
to serve families in arid rural areas.
