Khaled Alwaleed, the company’s assistant director-general
of operations, said that the project hopes to expand the load capacity to 1,000
kilowatts by 2024.
He said that a new 13km cable will be placed alongside
the existing cable that runs between Aqaba and Taba that was installed in 1999.
The project is expected to cost $70–100 million.
Egypt’s study of the project is expected to conclude
