AMMAN — The Department of Statistics released new data Wednesday that shows
an increase in the trade exchange between Jordan and
Iraq in 2022, the Jordan
News Agency, Petra, reported.

The exchange reached JD707 million
in the January-November period of 2022, up from JD415 million in the same
period of the previous year.
The data showed that the trade
balance between the two countries was heavily in favor of Jordan, with a JD423
million surplus.
Exports and importsJordan's exports to
Iraq increased to JD565 million during the 11-month period, up from JD369 million in 2021.
Imports from Iraq also rose to JD142 million, compared to JD46 million in the
same period of 2021.
Jordan's exports to
Iraq included
vegetables and fruits, dairy products, oils, meats, salt, cigarettes, and
pharmaceuticals, as well as dyes, perfumes, pipes, textiles, and electrical
appliances.
Iraq's main exports to Jordan were
petroleum products, mineral materials, natural gas, diesel, fertilizers,
aluminum, dates, jameed, and wheat, among others.
