Jordan, Saudi Arabia talk ways to increase agricultural cooperation

AMMAN — Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat on Wednesday discussed with a delegation from the Saudi Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Water, ways to increase agricultural crops and foodstuffs exchange, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

During a meeting with the Saudi undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Water Ahmed bin Saleh Khomshi and his accompanying delegation, Hneifat stressed the deep-rooted Jordanian-Saudi relations and the importance of exchanging joint expertise to develop the agricultural sector in both countries, lauding Saudi cooperation in all fields.

In turn, Khomshi pointed to Saudi Arabia's keenness to develop agricultural ties with Jordan and provide possible facilitations while maintaining safety and quality requirements of agricultural products imported into Saudi Arabia.

Later, the secretary-general of the Ministry of Agriculture, Muhammad Hiyari, and his Saudi counterpart, Ahmed bin Saleh Khomshi, held talks about common interests, the most important being export obstacles and some procedures on the two countries' borders.

Hiyari said Jordan lauds the Saudi Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Water's cooperation and their rapid response to some follow-ups from the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture, stressing the importance of developing means of contact through a joint committee that solves difficulties and helps maintain sustainable exports.
