AMMAN — The Department of Statistics
(DoS) has reported that Jordan's trade balance with Algeria recorded a surplus
of JD15 million during the January–April period of 2023, the Jordan News
Agency, Petra, reported.

Foreign trade data from the DoS reveals a
significant growth in Jordan's exports to Algeria, reaching approximately JD23
million in the first quarter of 2023 compared to JD13 million during the same
period last year.
Expanding exports
The Kingdom of Jordan has witnessed a
positive trend in its exports to Algeria, with a substantial increase recorded
in the first quarter of 2023.
The value of Jordanian exports to Algeria
reached around JD23 million, reflecting a notable surge in comparison to the
JD13 million recorded during the corresponding period in the previous year.
On the other hand, Jordan's imports from
Algeria have experienced a decline in the first quarter of 2023. The import
value decreased to approximately JD8 million, a significant drop from the JD38
million recorded during the same period last year.
Trade volume analysisThe DoS statistics indicate that the
trade volume between Jordan and Algeria amounted to approximately JD31 million
in the first quarter of 2023. This represents a decrease compared to the JD51
million recorded during the same period in 2022, highlighting a slight downturn
in the overall trade exchange between the two countries.
Jordan's exports to Algeria encompass a
diverse range of products, including fertilizers, pharmaceutical and chemical
products, essential oils, plastics, aluminum, clothing, machinery, and electric
appliances.
