AMMAN — Wassim Al-Najmi, general manager of
Al-Ram Pharmaceutical Industries, on Friday said that Jordanian pharmaceutical exports
amounted to about JD0.5 billion in 2021, constituting 7 percent of the total
national exports through 23 companies, according to Khaberni News.

Najmi pointed out that the pharmaceutical sector in
Jordan employs more than 10,000 people, 99 percent of whom are Jordanians, and
37 percent of whom are women.
Najmi also said that Jordanian exports medicines to
78 countries, including the US and the EU, which points to the quality of
Jordanian medicines.
According to Najmi, the pharmaceutical sector is the only
area in the Kingdom whose exports constitute more than its imports.
