The meetings were chaired by Secretary General of the Ministry of
Industry, Trade, and Supply Dana Zu’bi and the representative of state for
transport of Saudi Arabia Mansour Al-Turki.
Zu’bi stressed the importance of joint action to increase the level of
economic cooperation between the two countries by promoting intraregional
trade, stimulating investments and exchanging experiences.
“Trade between the two countries amounted to approximately $4 billion in
2021; about $1 billion in Jordanian exports to the Saudi market and $3.2
billion in imports, including oil imports,” according to Zu’bi.
She added that these figures “place before us a shared responsibility by
the public and private sectors to work hard towards increasing them in light of
the great potential between the two countries.”
From the Saudi side, Turki said that there is an opportunity to improve
economic cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia and that the committee’s
discussions will be aimed at advancing areas of cooperation and increasing the
volume of trade and joint investments.
Meetings of the ministerial committee will be held on Tuesday under the
