This comes shortly after local manufacturers took part in
the largest food and beverage exhibition, Anuga, in the German city of Cologne
only last week.
In a statement on Saturday, the JEA's President, Omar Abu
Wishah, said that Jordanian manufacturers participating in the three-day
exhibition in the UAE operate in various areas of foodstuff production.
The exhibition will showcase robotic packing solutions,
tech-based ingredients, integrated manufacturing technologies, and specializes
in foodstuffs, flavors and spices industries, Abu Wishah said.
The exhibition is a good opportunity for Jordanian
industrial companies to promote their products, especially following the
"difficult" circumstances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which
affected the global exhibitions industry that was forced to postpone industry
events, he said.
The JEA aims through Jordanian participation in this
exhibition to enable local manufacturers to learn about the latest
manufacturing technologies, in addition to introducing exhibition participants
to the latest developments and the high quality of Jordanian products, Abu
Wishah said.
He also pointed to the importance of expanding and supporting
participation in foreign exhibitions, which are considered international trade
platforms and the "most effective" way to promote national industries
that allow them to enter new markets.
Future participations also help maintain the momentum gained
by local companies in export markets over the past years, he said.
Stimulating industrial exports is the "most
effective" solution to achieve economic growth by increasing production
and investment in the industrial sector, and providing more job opportunities,
in addition to strengthening the Kingdom's foreign currency reserves, Abu
Wishah said.
Anuga, leading global food trade fair
The Jordan Chamber of Industry (
JCI) organized the Jordanian
pavilion at Anuga, the leading global trade fair for the food and beverage
industry in Cologne, Germany, held from October 9 to 13, according to the
Jordan News Agency, Petra.
In a statement Saturday, the JCI said the pavilion featured a number of
Jordanian companies.
The head of JCI, Fathi Jaghbir, said participation in the
exhibition is important to allow national exports to enter the EU market, which
would help Jordanian exporters to share their expertise and learn about
participants' food industry experience, discovering innovative products and
industry mechanisms, and touching base with new partners.
Jaghbir stressed the importance of Jordanian companies’ participation in one of
the largest trade fairs in the world, which included more than 4,600 companies
from 97 countries, including Belgium, Germany, France, Greece, Italy, the
Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Turkey, and the US.
Jordan's participation in the exhibition will pave the way more for local
manufacturers to enter EU markets, especially as they comply with the highest
Jordanian, European and American specifications, according to Jaghbir.
He said JCI's constant efforts to represent the Kingdom at all international
exhibitions and forums, helps increase the competitiveness of Jordanian products.
For his part, Walid Al Jitan, representative of food, catering, agricultural,
and livestock industries sector at the JCI, said the JCI intends to increase
the number of companies participating in the Anuga exhibition at its next
session, while increasing the area of the Jordanian pavilion.
Jitan also stressed the importance of the participation of food manufacturing
companies in the event in order to learn about the latest technologies, gain
experience, as well as find new markets.
