Jordan participates in maritime conference in Egypt

AMMAN — Jordan participated in the Red Sea Maritime Transport and Logistics Conference, which kicked off Sunday in Egypt, according to Al-Mamlaka TV. The conference, which was attended by Minister of Transport Wajih Azaizeh, tackled several prominent subjects such as developing the maritime transport industry in the Red Sea, strategizing the development of Egyptian shipping to maximize the volume of seaborne exchange, and discussing the role of the Suez Canal in supporting the flow of ships at the regional and international levels. The two-day conference will also discuss topics related to infrastructure and logistical development, the ports’ vision to promote trade, investment opportunities, and funding mechanisms. Mechanisms for attracting investment in economic zones, developing maritime transport and marine insurance and reinsurance to support the development of maritime transport and export financing, alongside presenting current aspects and future visions of maritime transport in countries bordering the Red Sea, will also be discussed. The conference will be attended by a number of transport ministers, commercial representatives of coastal countries, and presidents of ports and shipping companies.
