Jordan's tourism income reaches a 10-year high in February

AMMAN — The Central Bank of Jordan reported that tourism income for the month of February 2023 has achieved its highest level in the past 10 years, for the second consecutive month, according to Hala News. اضافة اعلان

The data indicates a growth rate of 123.2 percent, reaching JD357.8 million ($504 million).

Surging tourism income in 2023
Tourist income for the first two months of 2023 has increased by 122.7 percent, reaching JD749 ($1,056 million). This growth is attributed to the increase in the number of tourists to 939,900 tourists, with a growth rate of 135.5 percent.

Overnight tourists also increased to 765,400 tourists, with a growth rate of 119.5 percent, while day tourists have reached 174,600 tourists with a growth rate of 246.4 percent.

Rise in tourist spendingThe data also shows a rise in tourist spending in February 2023, with an increase of 94.3 percent compared to the same month in 2022, reaching JD95 million ($134.0 million).

Tourist spending for the first two months of 2023 has increased by 101.8 percent, reaching JD200 million ($282.4 million). Jordanian residents' spending accounts for 85.1 percent of total tourist spending abroad.
