AMMAN — According to the latest report from the Civil
Service Bureau, the number of people appointed to government sector jobs in
Jordan for 2023 has reached 7,947.

These appointments were made across different regions in the
Kingdom, with the central region receiving the highest percentage at 49.9
percent, followed by the northern region at 30.3 percent and the southern
region at 19.9 percent, according to a local media outlet.
In terms of job categories, teaching as an occupation
received the highest number of appointments at 54 percent, followed by the
medical group at 27 percent.
Other job groups received between 3 percent and 8 percent of
appointments.
Female job seekersWhile the percentage of applicants applying for new
employment in the Civil Service decreased by 1.2 percent, the number of new
applicants reached 37,874 for 2023, compared to 38,339 applicants in 2022.

The largest percentage of applicants came from the 20–24 age
group at 71.8 percent.
Of the total number of applicants, 86 percent hold a university
qualification, while 13.8 percent hold a comprehensive diploma and only 0.7
percent hold a technical diploma.
The number of applicants for educational employment was the
largest share at 46.4 percent, followed by medical occupations at 17.4 percent,
engineering at 12.9 percent, and commercial and financial at 9.5 percent.
The percentage of applicants for other professions reached
6.8 percent.
The number of cumulative applications for the competitive
examination in 2023 was 486,118, indicating the high demand for public sector
jobs in Jordan.
