AMMAN —
According to a ranking by Forbes magazine, the Jordanian dinar has ranked
fourth among the top 10 strongest currencies in the world in 2023.

Forbes magazine
stated that the dinar is the fourth strongest currency in the world, and is
equal to $1.41, while the dollar is equal to JD0.71.
“Jordan is largely land-locked, bordering Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. Jordan is less dependent on oil and gas exports than its neighbors and has struggled with sluggish economic growth and rising debt. The Jordanian dinar entered circulation in 1950 and is pegged to the US dollar,”
Jordan came
behind the Kuwaiti dinar, Bahraini dinar, and Omani rial.
The ranking is
based on the relative value of each currency against the US dollar, which is
the most traded currency globally.
“Jordan is
