AMMAN — Ministers of Finance
Mohamad Al-Ississ, Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Al-Shraideh, and the
Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan Adel Sharkas, are participating in the
annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Board of Governors and
the World Bank Group, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

The meetings are taking place in Washington on October 10–16.
The government’s economic team with the IMF and the World Bank is
expected to examine the
Economic Modernization Vision launched last June under
the supervision of His Majesty King Abdullah. They will also be discussing
funding needed to enable Jordan to implement the 10-year economic plan.
The team will conduct meetings with donors on the sidelines of the annual
gathering. The bilateral meetings will discuss assistance programs for the
coming period, and discuss funding needs to enable Jordan to move forward with
political, social and economic modernization programs.
The
meetings will tackle four main themes, namely inclusive growth, the cost of
food and fuel crises, investment in education, and investment in the planet.
