AMMAN — The
latest statistics for the years 2020 and 2021 show that annual Jordanian
imports from Russia amounted to nearly $200 million, according to Al-Ghad News.

Jordan imports from Russia mostly grain, cast
iron, steel, and copper. The highest value, according to the Department of
Statistics, amounting to JD105 million in 2020, is represented by grains,
followed by iron at JD26 million, copper at JD16 million, fats and oils at JD6
million, and vegetables and plants with a value of JD5.8 million.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) had said that the war in Ukraine
would significantly affect the global economy and the state of financial
markets.
The IMF stated that “the increase in prices
will affect the whole world, especially those with low incomes, whose purchase
of food and fuel constitutes the largest share of their expenditures”.
