AMMAN — Jordanians spent JD437.6 million on travel during the first nine months of this year, 98.6 percent more than they did in the same period of last year, according to data issued by the
Central Bank.

Central Bank data also shows that the Kingdom’s tourism income increased by 61.2 percent during the first 10 months or the year, reaching $2.1 billion, while it witnessed a 73 percent decrease during the same period last year, according to Al-Ghad News.
The increase is due to the fact that 676,000 more tourists, or 59.7 percent, visited the Kingdom so far this year, bringing the total to 1.8 million, while in 2020, there was a 75.1 percent decline in the number of tourists.
