Jordanians’ travel spending doubled in 2021 — CBJ

AMMAN — Jordanians have spent 131.6 percent more on travel in 2021 than in 2020, according to Saraya News.

Data from the Central Bank of Jordan shows that Jordanians' travel expenses increased by JD627 million last year.اضافة اعلان

Travel spending was increasing before the pandemic. In 2019, Jordanians spent more than JD1 billion on travel, an increase of 4.5 percent compared to 2018.

Tourism revenue in 2021 amounted to JD1.9 billion, an increase of 90 percent compared to 2020, according to the CBJ’s data.
