AMMAN —
President of the
Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) Hamdi Tabbaa said on
Saturday that the volume of Kuwaiti investments in Jordan is about $18 billion,
according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

Speaking at a
meeting about the development of Jordanian-Kuwaiti economic relations, he added
that “The relations between the two countries are deep and rooted,” stressing
that Kuwait is one of the most prominent countries investing in Jordan.
He added that
Kuwait ranks second among Arab countries in the field of investment in the
Amman Stock Exchange amounting to JD800 million during 2021.
Trade exchange
during the first eight months of this year amounted to JD141 million, adding
that there are opportunities that are not taken advantage of as required,
whether on the commercial or investment level.

Kuwait’s Ambassador
to Jordan Aziz Al-Daihani added during the meeting that the agreements between
the two countries exceeded 73, including economic ones.
The ambassador
revealed that a Kuwaiti businessman will announce future projects in Jordan.
He said that the
businessman is looking for stability and that is what Jordan is all about,
stressing that he is aware of the new investment law in Jordan.
The ambassador
highlighted the depth of relations between the two countries, describing it as
a golden square.
In response to
businessmen’s questions, the ambassador said that “We appreciate all Jordanian
universities, and what Kuwait has done is that it rebalanced the distribution
of students,” pointing out that there are about 4,700 Kuwaiti students in
Jordan.
He added that
“Kuwait has no reservations against Jordanian universities.”
He also added that there are no problems or obstacles
regarding the visas granted to Jordanians.
