Each of these events holds its own distinct significance, defined by its unique audiences and varying levels of competition. The Wadi Al Qamar Rally is famed for its rugged desert terrain, providing a true test of vehicle endurance and performance under extreme conditions. In tandem, Jordan Baja Rally - sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) - attracts top-tier drivers from across the region and stands out as a rigorous challenge, pushing machines to their limits over long and demanding desert tracks.
As part of its active participation in the Wadi Al Qamar Rally, Markazia Toyota fielded two of its models - the Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Hilux - through three official teams comprising professional drivers and influencers. The lineup included driver Natasha Dakhqan (Hilux) and her co-driver Farah Zaid Al Hammouri; driver Rami Touqan (Fortuner) and his co-driver Fahed Hasan; and driver Tamer Bseiso (Hilux) and his co-driver Saif Mansour – showcasing Toyota’s off-road performance and proven reliability in desert rallying.
Also competing behind the wheels of Toyota vehicles, Desert Fox joined the Wadi Al Qamar Rally with a strong lineup of drivers. The teams comprised Tareq Musharbash (Fortuner) with co-driver Ahmad Huraibat; As'ad Irsheid (Fortuner) with co-driver Hazem Al Ajlouni; and Taymour Mauge (Hilux) with co-driver Angelina Rihani. Meanwhile, in the Jordan Baja Rally, a 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser was piloted by Yahya Soubar with co-driver Ibraheem Hamat, further proving the readiness of Toyota vehicles to conquer all terrains and conditions.
Alongside the on-ground action, Markazia also sponsored the Baja Simulator Race, held on the sidelines of the Jordan Baja Rally using the Gran Turismo 7 racing video game. The qualifying rounds kicked off on 7 April, with the top 10 racers advancing to the finals on 11 April, where the top three winners were awarded cash prizes.
In contrast, Rally Jameel has emerged as one of the most unique events in the regional motorsports calendar, dedicated exclusively to women and combining athletic challenges with a spirit of adventure and cultural exploration. This year’s edition begins in Petra, Jordan, and takes racers through several Saudi cities, including Tabuk, AlUla and Hail, ultimately reaching Al Qassim. Covering over 1,500 kilometers, the rally spans diverse terrains and showcases some of the most remarkable natural and historical landscapes, making this year’s iteration the largest and most varied to date.
Markazia Toyota is participating in this year’s Rally Jameel with two of its world-renowned vehicles - the Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado - driven by two all-female teams. The first team features driver Farah Zakaria and co-driver Joy Ibrahim, whereas the second includes driver Rana Haddadin and co-driver Angelina Rehani. This participation marks a significant milestone in promoting the role of Jordanian and Arab women in high-level motorsport competitions.
Markazia Group CEO, Nadim Haddad, expressed his immense pride in supporting a month packed with high-profile motorsport events in Jordan and the region, stating, "Our sponsorship of these races and rallies reflects our deep-rooted commitment to motorsports and our belief in the importance of empowering drivers and participants throughout the region. We also have great confidence in the durability and reliability of Toyota vehicles, which makes them the perfect choice for taking on the most demanding off-road challenges. We are confident these sponsorships will further reinforce Toyota’s leadership in both performance and trustworthiness.”
These sponsorships underscore Markazia Toyota’s unwavering commitment to supporting both local and regional motorsports, while reinforcing the brand’s leadership in performance and endurance within racing.
