The fund
closed the window to receive applications on December 31 to review households’
compliance with the required indicators before conducting field visits to
verify the data provided. The next step would be to disburse cash assistance to
eligible families as of April 2022.
Sawalha said
that the government is studying the possibility of integrating the
beneficiaries of the Monthly Cash Transfers Program of the National Aid Fund
into the supplementary support program (Takaful), without negatively affecting
the beneficiaries.
Sawalha
continued, "We at the National Aid Fund are still in the process of
analyzing the results of this study, and the extent to which Takaful
instructions are in conformity with the beneficiaries of the Monthly Cash
Transfers Program, and in light of that we will work to integrate them without
causing a negative impact on the beneficiaries."
Sawalha
indicated that the implementation of this merger may start in 2022, depending
on the results of the study and the extent to which the previous beneficiaries
match the new program, expecting that "the merger will be completed
gradually within 3 years from the start of its implementation."
The number
of beneficiaries of Monthly Cash Transfers Program is currently about 105,000
families.
