AMMAN — According to the
Social Security Corporation (SSC), young children are not covered by social security insurance; one has to
be at least 16 years old to have coverage, Khaberni reported.

Individuals who are 16 years or older are allowed to
work and enjoy SSC insurance, provided that the wage based on which
contributions are calculated is not less than the approved minimum wage,
according to Article 4 of the Jordanian Labor Law.
Through the end of October, there were 1.488 million SCC
subscribers, according to a recent SCC announcement.
