The experts, who participated in a working session
held last week, underlined the need to approve the necessary legislations to
implement the vision and called for the need to communicate with the
authorities that oversee its implementation.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of
Politics and Society, Azmi Mahafzah, said that observatory will start
monitoring the implementation of the vision’s outputs through its eight
targeted drivers, and will evaluate the extent of progress for each driver and
the timeline needed for its completion. He added that special focus will be on
the operational needs that must be met for each of these drivers with emphasis
on some indicators such as the “creating a million job opportunities”
indicator.
The general coordinator of the observatory, Muhammad
Abdul Hamid Al-Qudah, said that it comes as a civil society monitoring body
that follows up on implementation in order to ensure that these outputs are
reflected on the life of the
Jordanians and the national economy. He said the
observatory wants to make sure that the outputs and their implementation
transcends governments to ensure sustainable growth.
Qudah said that the observatory will follow up the
outputs of the
Public Sector Modernization Committee because the success of the
economic vision is linked to the implementation of all of these outputs. The
observatory will launch its website, through which the results of its monitoring
will be published periodically every three months, in addition to publishing
economic analyses related to the vision, he added.
