In the last two months of last year, 94,000 postal
parcels entered the country, he said.
Allan estimated trade through commercial parcels at
JD240 million last year, while merchants’ imports amounted to JD195 million.
He cited a substantial savings in tax cost as the reason
import volume of clothing via postal parcel has increased, noting that even
though customs duties had been reduced, tax burdens still exist, with traders
paying a 30.5 percent tariff on imports.
