AMMAN — Queen Alia International Airport has seen a 14
percent growth rate in the number of incoming and outgoing flights in March
2023 compared to the previous month.

According to the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission's
President, Captain Haitham Misto, the total number of flights in March reached
6,179.
Exceeding pre-pandemic numbersMisto announced on Sunday that for the first time since the
COVID-19 pandemic, the airport's number of passengers, aircraft movement, and
daily flights have exceeded the numbers achieved in 2019 during the first
quarter of this year.
The increase in traffic at the airport is a promising sign
of recovery for the aviation industry and the country's economy.
The daily number of flights in March 2023 reached 199
flights compared to 163 incoming and outgoing flights during the same month in
2022 and 198 incoming and outgoing flights during March 2019.
Increased connectivityThe airport has also recorded a growth rate of 55 percent in
passenger movement, with 2,063,051 passengers arriving and departing from the
airport from the beginning of the year until the end of March.
This is a significant increase compared to 1,330,202
passengers for the same period last year and 1,924,417 passengers during the
same period in 2019.
The airport has connected Jordan to 75 direct international
destinations since the beginning of the year, further increasing connectivity
to and from the country.
