The
Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA), in collaboration with the Swiss
Foundation for Technical Cooperation, launched a technical vocational training
program, RACA said in a statement.

It said the
program, which targeted 120 trainees, is funded by the Swiss Agency for
Cooperation and Development.
The launch event
was attended by Swiss Ambassador Emilija Georgieva, Minister of Labor Nayef
Stetieh, Chairman of King Abdullah II Development Fund (KAFD) Naser Al-Lawzi,
and Senator and Chairman of the Labor and Social Development committee Issa
Murad.
Other attendants
included
KAFD Director Saeb Al-Hasan, Director of the Vocational Training
Corporation Ahmad Al-Gharaibeh, hotel managers, and potential employers of this
program’s beneficiaries.
The training
program supports youth in building entry-level skills they need to seek
employment in the hospitality and culinary industry, according to the
statement.
“In
light of its continuous efforts to support the hospitality sector and satisfy
the market’s needs and demands for trainees, RACA introduced this unique
three-month intensive hands-on training course, which seeks to develop youths’,
and especially females’ competencies, and builds their skills to successfully
enter the workforce at entry-level occupations in the industry,” the statement
said.
