AMMAN — Royal Jordanian (RJ) on Tuesday said its aircrafts carried 686,000 passengers to Jordan in the first five months of this year, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

An RJ statement said that it carried about 500,000 non-Jordanian visitors through 5,700 regular and charter flights until last May.
The number of non-Jordanian visitors coming to Jordan via RJ is expected to reach more than 1 million this year, including 300,000 visitors from European nationalities, 220,000 from the United States, and 70,000 from the Gulf Cooperation Council RJ VIce-Chairman and CEO Samer Al-Majali said.
He underlined RJ's keenness to support the tourism strategy and its implementation of plans and programs that would increase the number of tourists coming to Jordan.
He added RJ is exerting its utmost efforts, within its available capabilities, to increase the number of flights and operate them to tourist attractions in response to the demand for travel as well as provide services to various sectors of travelers to and from the Kingdom, in addition to the "transit" passengers passing through Queen Alia International Airport to other destinations on the RJ network.
