Flights will depart
to Najaf three times a week, and brings the total number of RJ destinations to
Iraq to five: Najaf, Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, and Sulaymaniyah.
RJ CEO Samer Al-Majali
said resuming operations to Najaf comes as part of RJ’s strategy, which focuses
on enhancing operations, boosting the frequency of intraregional travel, and bolstering
commercial, social, and cultural relations between the two countries.
The route is
expected to serve primarily businesspeople, students, and Najaf residents
traveling to Amman and beyond, he said. Additionally, it would encourage tourism
to Jordan and support transit operations through Queen Alia International
Airport, Majali added.
RJ operates more
than 30 weekly flights between Jordan and Iraq; 14 weekly flights to Baghdad,
nine weekly flights to
Erbil, and three weekly flights each to Najaf, Basra,
and Sulaymaniyah. The CEO noted that the company is now offering a discount of
up to 20 percent on the ticket fares to these destinations.
Passengers who wish
to book to or from Najaf are invited to visit rj.com or RJ’s mobile app, call
the call center at +962 5100000, or visit RJ’s global sales offices or their
preferred travel agent.
