AMMAN — A regional workshop on forensic
audit, including ways to combat money laundering, concluded in Amman on
Wednesday, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The three-day gathering, entitled “forensic audit in the
fight against money laundering”, was organized jointly by the EU Global
Facility on Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing (AML/CFT) and the French
Embassy.
It brought together representatives of various judicial
and financial intelligence institutions, including delegates from Jordan, Iraq,
Lebanon, and Palestine.
In concluding remarks, participants lauded the meeting
as the first of its kind, saying it will encourage regional cooperation against
money laundering.
