With Derbas at the helm of the property’s operations, The Ritz-Carlton, Amman is quickly shaping up to deliver an unprecedented experience in bespoke, uncompromising luxury.
With over 25 years of experience managing luxury hotel properties around the world, Derbas is a connoisseur of refined hospitality and incisive management. Having already successfully overseen the launches of five distinctive luxury hotels (including the world-renowned St. Regis Doha and Four Seasons Amman) — and managed countless others — Derbas has a track record that speaks volumes about his astute management skills.
He also boasts an intimate understanding of The Ritz-Carlton brand: Before taking on his current role, Derbas spent the last two years as the general manager of the award-winning Ritz-Carlton Hotel & Residences DIFC, in Dubai. His appointment at The Ritz-Carlton, Amman came at the directive of the late Chairman of Al Eqbal Real Estate Development and Hotels, Tawfiq Fakhouri. As one of Fakhouri’s final business decisions, he identified Derbas as the perfect candidate to lead and execute his ambitious vision for the property.
Recognizing the critical importance of a hotel’s prelaunch and launch phases, The Ritz-Carlton, Amman’s general manager is already hard at work, ensuring perfection and strategic planning down to the smallest detail. Derbas’ vision for The Ritz-Carlton, Amman emphasizes a people-oriented philosophy — one that aligns perfectly with the brand’s global reputation for meaningful, personalized gestures and experiences.
Upon the property’s launch next spring, visitors and residents can expect to find a fresh, elevated interpretation of local culture and hospitality, underpinned by the strength of the brand’s rich, illustrious international legacy.
