AMMAN —
Oil studies in Al-Sarhan area are promising, said Khaled Al-Shawabkeh,
president of the Jordanian geologists syndicate, pointing to the potential for
commercial quantities in the area, according to Jo24.
Shawabkeh said
that the National Company has drawn up a plan to drill for four oil wells in
the area.
The studies, he
added, revealed that there is an oil reservoir of 1,950m in depth and that
drilling has so far reached 700m.
Shawabkeh
maintained that the National Company also proposed a development plan for Hamza
oil wells, expanding its production to 200,000 barrels per month, up from the
present 200 barrels.
