The Social Security Corporation announced in a press release issued by its media center that 1,098 pension benefits for natural death were allocated during the year 2024. This brings the cumulative number of natural death pension benefits as of December 31, 2024, to a total of 25,898 pension benefits.

The corporation indicated that to be eligible for a natural death pension, the deceased insured individual must have a minimum of 24 months of actual contribution to the social security system, including 6 consecutive contributions, and the death must occur during their period of insurance coverage.
The corporation added that this pension is allocated to the rightful heirs of the insured person starting from the month in which the death occurs, and they are also entitled to a funeral expenses allowance of 700 Jordanian dinars.
Furthermore, the corporation confirmed that the Social Security Law also allows for the allocation of a natural death pension to the rightful heirs of a Jordanian insured individual, even if the death occurs outside the coverage period of the social security system. However, it is required that the insured individual have a previous insurance period of no less than 120 actual contributions, including 12 consecutive contributions, and that no more than 60 months have passed since their last coverage period until the date of death.
