AMMAN — The Telecommunications Regulatory
Commission said last week that in the first half of this year it received 3,215
complaints about internet services and provider companies, in a country where
the number of network users is estimated to reach more than 10 million, Al-Ghad
News reported.

According to published data, 503 more official
complaints were received by the TRC about internet services during the first
half of this year, 19 percent more than those received in the same period of
last year, when the number reached 2,712.
Complaints about internet services constituted 78
percent of the total number of official complaints received by TRC about
various services and telecommunications companies in the first six months of
the current year.
The commission received a total of 4,103 user
complaints from the beginning of 2022 until the end of June, and dealt with
3,782 complaints so far, a processing rate of 92 percent, it said.
TRC Board Chairman Bassam Fadel Sarhan stressed the
important role played by the commission in protecting user information and
helping postal services, and affirmed the commission’s keenness to establish
operating companies that provide quality services at acceptable prices to its
beneficiaries.
Sarhan stressed that work is under way to address
complaints that require field visits by technical teams, and to secure
coordination with the companies concerned in with these issues.
