He added that
the agreement is the result of several meetings held to reach consensus. The
concerned parties discussed technical details related to the 5G service, so as
to ensure licensing it in the best manner, and several other items.
Details of the
agreement will be announced soon, Sarhan said.
On January 9, 2022,
Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh announced the
launch of 5G telecommunication services infrastructure during a press
conference at the Prime Ministry, stating: “The government decided to enable
local telecommunications companies to establish an infrastructure for 5G
services”.
Sarhan had told
Al-Mamlaka TV that launching 5G services is “not a luxury”, but rather a
necessity and a pillar of digital transformation for future technological
development, adding that 5G services support modern services and applications,
such as content services, the Internet of Things, AI, and other usages that
require fast technology and competition.
Applying the
5G services
should help achieve economic growth and help the GDP, in addition to providing
various job opportunities, and the entry of supportive companies into the
promising Jordanian market.
