Through this agreement, customers can support the
non-profit’s beneficiaries directly through the Talabat app, with all proceeds
going directly to local, home-based female entrepreneurs.
Keys for Sustainable Development aims to assist women
working from their homes, especially widows, orphans, and those with special
needs. The organization links these women up with social investors and
microfinance institutions, and also equips them with the skills and tools
needed to develop sustainable, income-generating home businesses.
Commenting on the agreement, Managing Director of Talabat
Jordan
Hala Siraj said the company’s support for Keys for Sustainable
Development was part of its “ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment”, the
statement read.
Keys for Sustainable Development’s store on the Talabat app
will sell traditional Jordanian handicrafts, handmade soaps, and artisanal food
items, all produced by the organization’s beneficiaries. Customers who purchase
these products will be directly supporting the wellbeing of local female
entrepreneurs.
Thabet Al-Nabulsi, founder and managing partner of Keys for
Sustainable Development, said that through its partnership with Talabat the
non-profit was broadening its “base of selling and promoting Jordanian women's
products” and encouraging “more people to support these entrepreneurs and small
home business owners by purchasing their products”.
