AMMAN —
Talabat has facilitated the donation of more than 4.6 million meals since 2020
to those in need throughout the
MENA region, the company said in a press
statement on Tuesday.

As part of its
“Delivery Hero” milestone of donating 10 million meals globally, Talabat
partnered with 30 local charities, as well as international NGOs such as the
UN World Food Program, the statement said.
One of the guiding
principles of Talabat’s corporate responsibility strategy is to contribute to
the UN Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger, Talabat Vice President
Susanne Stulemeijer was quote in the statement as saying.
“As an organization
we are privileged to facilitate the donation ... and would like to thank our
customers who have made a difference to the lives of those in need,”
Stulemeijer said.
Talabat is one of
nine organizations that took part in the Delivery Hero project worldwide. The
others are efood, foodora, foodpanda, HungerStation, mjam, PedidosYa, Woowa,
and Yemeksepeti, of which Talabat contributed most to the milestone, according
to the statement.
Jeffrey Oatham, a
senior director at Delivery Hero, voiced his appreciation of MENA region
customers for their contribution in the meal donation program.
“We see it as our responsibility to leverage our technology
and platforms for good and I am proud to see our efforts come to fruition,”
Oatham said.
