The Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department, Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, confirmed that linking the National Electronic Invoicing System with the government "SAND" app aims to enable companies and establishments to ensure that their purchases of local goods and services are made through suppliers who comply with the system. It also assists those in charge of procurement in financial departments in verifying compliance.

He stated that anyone who receives an invoice for purchasing goods or services can verify its validity using the "SAND" app by checking for a QR code on the invoice. Then, they can select the "Verify Digital Documents" option within the app and scan the code. The app will immediately display whether the invoice is valid or not.
He pointed out that the department has listed the names of suppliers who comply with the National Invoicing System on its website, allowing companies and individuals to confirm that the suppliers they deal with are part of the system.
He clarified that the department took this action to enable companies, establishments, and individuals to comply with the provisions of the amended system for expenses, allocations, depreciation, and exemptions, under which Article (3) of the original system was amended to approve the electronic invoice issued by the National Electronic Invoicing Program or its linked program, according to the invoicing regulation system, which applies to local purchases of goods and services. It is important to note that these provisions will take effect starting from April 1st.
He also mentioned that companies, establishments, and individuals can now engage with those who comply with the National Electronic Invoicing System through the following link:
