Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department, has decided to extend the deadline for submitting audited financial statements for companies for the fiscal year 2024 until May 25. The extension aims to give auditors and tax experts sufficient time to complete all necessary procedures for submitting the audited financial statements.

The Income and Sales Tax Department confirmed that the legal deadline for submitting income tax returns and preliminary financial statements for the fiscal year 2024 remains April 30. It urged taxpayers who have not yet submitted their income tax returns for 2024 to do so and pay the declared amounts electronically before the end of Wednesday, April 30, to avoid fines and penalties as stipulated by law. These penalties include an additional tax for failing to submit the return, as well as a fine of 4 per thousand of the due tax amount for each week of delay or part thereof.
